I started Neolyth to build software that lets people get on with their actual work, instead of the administration that has grown around it.

Documentation and administration are side effects of the work. They are not what anyone trained for, and they take the hours the work itself deserves. That is the part I want to give back. Used well, AI takes the sunk time out of a day and lets a person do more in less of it. Used badly, it makes the decisions, and the decisions were never the tedious part. I build for the first case and design against the second.

I started building in 2023 and registered Neolyth in 2024. VocaDoc came first. Clinicians in Dutch mental health care spend a large part of every day writing notes, and I wanted the writing to take minutes instead of the evening. It went into production in March 2025. The professional speaks, the note is drafted, and it is read and signed before it is filed. The typing goes. The judgement stays where it was.

Over the past two years I designed and built the whole platform under it: the application servers, the edge gateway and its firewall, the GPU hosts that do transcription, backups in two locations, and the monitoring that tells me when something misbehaves. It runs on my own hardware in Nijmegen and on a server I rent in Germany. That is also what I bring to advisory work. Language models are a component with sharp edges, and I have spent enough time on both sides of them to say plainly where they help and where a person has to stay in the loop.
